When I am not exposing, I play with Photoshop.

I look for images from my archive and edit or modify them.

I edited photos from my trips to the USA to give them a different meaning.

With this series, I made it onto the shortlist at Fotobookfestival Kassel with my photobook dummy.

The name of that series is like a song from Johnny Cash: “The One On The Right Is On The Left”

Kai-Uwe Gundlach

Kai-Uwe Gundlach (born 1966) grew up in northern Germany.

When he is not traveling the world, he works on freelance projects in his Hamburg studio. He works successfully as a commercial photographer as well as a freelance artistic photographer. His pictures are very complex but always have a little sense of humor, and a little idea. Sometimes they are arrangements or simple collages or just snapshots. He likes to photograph people from his environment. Often his works arise spontaneously.

He does not follow a real plan. He gets involved with his environment, observes a lot, and creates out of a gut feeling.
