Blame the Algorithm @ Stadtmuseum München

Expanding on the activities around the collaboration with Broomberg and Chanarin, Münchner Stadtmuseum commissioned Der Greif to conceive a display in relation to Issue 12 for FORUM #50. In order to create a meaningful connection with the concept of the issue, we decided to show an installation of the GOOD and BAD edit of Issue 12 in Münchner Stadtmuseum, working with the print publication directly. The publications are mounted to the wall, with the GOOD edit on top and the BAD edit below. Thus, the entire sequence of both GOOD and BAD can be experienced in the installation. Due to the explicit nature of some of the featured images, the museum imposed a layer of censorship. We covered the images that were too explicit with a red flap for the visitors to lift in order to make it their decision if they want to see the pictures. Visitors are equipped with red and white pencils to add their voting contributions below each image: What's GOOD what's BAD?
