Der Greif X MPB: Behind the Image with artist Thero Makepe and curators Damarice Amao & Matthias Pfaller

Join us for a live “Der Greif X MPB: Behind the Image” conversation on November 27th at 6 pm CET with artist Thero Makepe. Makepe is the Guest Room Scholarship recipient of 1.000 € from our Guest Room curated by Damarice Amao and Matthias Pfaller on the theme; “Empathy”. Together with the curators, Makepe will take an in-depth look into his practice and series "Fly Machine/Mogaka", which explores the grey area between collective and personal memory as well as reality and imagination. The work was inspired by Major Cliff Manyuni, a Botswana Defence Force (BDF) pilot's death during a BDF Day rehearsal in 2018 after steering a stricken fighter jet away from highly populated areas in Gaborone, thus saving many lives in the process.
