That’s why Alessia Glaviano is teaming up with Chiara Bardelli Nonino, Photo Editor at Vogue Italia and L’Uomo Vogue, in chosing the theme for this instalment. Chiara has decided to work with the quote from “Teaching my mother how to give birth” by Warsan Shire: »I have my mother’s mouth and my father’s eyes; on my face they are still together.«

Alessia Glaviano

Alessia Glaviano is the head of Global PhotoVogue and director of the Photo Vogue Festival. She launched PhotoVogue in 2011 as an online platform showcasing user-submitted photos curated by professionals. PhotoVogue's mission is to champion talent and promote ethical, inclusive visual literacy. With over 20 years of experience at Condé Nast, Glaviano was the Photo Director of Vogue Italia. She curates museum exhibitions, directed Vogue Italia's Instagram strategy, and leads art direction for digital campaigns like Gucci Beauty's featuring Ellie Goldstein.

Chiara Bardelli-Nonino

Chiara Bardelli-Nonino holds an MA in Philosophy; her dissertation looked at post-mortem photography. She is senior visual editor of Vogue Italia and L’Uomo Vogue, the editor of Vogue.it’s photography section, and a curator for the Photo Vogue Festival, where fashion is explored from a sociopolitical point of view. Her focus on contemporary photography also sees her working on independent editorial and curatorial work and juries.
