    Dark and Gloomy Atmospheres

    For the photographic project Animas, I decided to mark dark and gloomy atmospheres by photographing at the end of the day and during the night. The masks also celebrate the difficulty of the winter cold, the darkness of waiting for the thaw. The threatening, frightening quality of these disguises is a fundamental element that aims not to frighten the other, but rather to create a relationship with the other. By pushing the spectators/actors towards the unknown, towards the mysteries of death and the universe.

    Andrea Graziosi

    Andrea Graziosi is an Italian photographer based in Marseille. He grew up in a small village, a religious destination for many pilgrims. His research focuses on the correlations between human beings and other forms of life. Evoking and working on ontological notions linked to the concepts of animal becoming, parallel dimensions, fracture and strangeness, he aims to produce photographic works in which the role of the printed object is decisive. In 2015, he published his first book, Nunc Stans, with André Frère Ed. He is currently working on publishing Animas project.
