Domesticity and Intimacy

The privilege of going into a person's home is like no other. When you are granted this privilege of entering a place that a person holds closest to themselves, seeing how a person decorates their house, what their aesthetic is, and the imprint of other people on this living space, creates this beautiful feeling of relatability within me.

The Home has always been a place of respect and intimacy, and so when I am invited into someone’s home, it is always a privilege. That being said, I didn’t have a lot of that growing up. Living outside of the country for so long, all I’ve ever seen is building facades or landscapes of the ocean or bays. Glimpses of a room or indoor spaces intrigued me, all of this accumulated in my interest to explore the domestic in As You Grow Older.
