    Introducing KIRSTINE AUTZEN

    Artist Blog by Barbara Proschak

    I would like to introduce you to Kirstine Autzen’s work “In Tender Terrain”.

    She is a great artist, colleague and friend. We met via Instagram and connected instantly. There are so many connections in our ways of seeing, thinking and working - same but different. That is amazing. After our first online coffee in early 2023, we started to share thoughts, ideas, and working processes and a lot of time talking about art, inspiration, etc… We met in Copenhagen and Bornholm. And there is much more to come.

    Kirstine Autzen (DK 1980) is a visual artist and MFA in Fine Art Photography from HDK Valand working primarily with photographic images as hybrid and spatial phenomena and how they connect to questions of transformation, identity and perception.

    She is based in Copenhagen.

    Barbara Proschak

    Barbara Proschak (1984, based in Leipzig) is a visual artist working in photography. In serial work, the desire to explore and experiment makes itself felt, which Proschak has conceptualized as a game with comparative seeing. An important method is repetition and variation. By overdrawing her photographs with fine permanent pens she unfolds a moving surface and illusionary power of depth.

    Over the past decade, her works have been shown in several solo and group exhibitions in Germany, Denmark, South Korea and Switzerland. She is represented by Galerie Jochen Hempel, Leipzig.
