The Weight of the World Overflowing From the Bathtub

Artist Blog by Berk Kır

I have become a person who experiences life based on the existence of my emotions. Trying to see my own feelings in different ways is what brought me closer to portrait photography. In this series, I try to write about my current feelings in water through images by exposing the notes I took in my handwriting onto the photographs I took in the bathtub.

"I always think of life as a space of currents. Tears flow, time flows, conversation flows. What is flowing, and where is it going? Time flows like the water dripping onto my intimate posture as I sit under the shower. Conversation flows inward, resonating within me. Tears flow as conversation onto the water that drips onto me. Writing flows, water flows, I flow..."
