Blossom to Bloom

In the garden of adolescence, where dreams take root, “Blossom to Bloom” encapsulates the journey of transformation entangled with youth. What drives us forward and compels us to create is the longing for meaning; a rebellion against norms and the rigid structures that frame our insecurities. But amidst the rebellion, there is also play: a joyful exploration of the limits of our existence and the boundless potential within.

As we navigate this journey from childhood to adulthood, we nurture the seeds we’ve sown for tomorrow’s world. Woven into this tapestry is the awareness of connection and a desire to believe in the rhizome of humanity in the network we form, whether that be the web of physical interconnection or the sprawling expanse of virtual realms.

This project was brought to life through the active involvement of young individuals from the Bruges area, aged between thirteen and seventeen years old, in a series of workshops. These workshops delved into their creative instincts, impressions, and experiences, seeking to uncover significant insights into today’s teenage life. I opted to intertwine a symbolic narrative of nature’s evolution and its intrinsic growth patterns, emphasising the significance of selecting positive influences to catalyze change. The aim was to reconnect participants with the primal roots of their biological nature, which the tide of progress often distances them from.
