"Remedium" is a project about the dialogue between humans and nature. My work focuses on what is real and happening here and now. I photograph scientists working to revitalize post-industrial areas. By observing their actions and the results of their work, I search for hope in times of crisis. I found hope on slag heaps. I see these heaps as scars left by humans on the landscape – enduring symbols of the Industrial Revolution and intensive resource exploitation. They are as old as the mines and smelters themselves. From my perspective, they are places that serve as both archives and laboratories. The project consists of two interwoven strands. The first strand follows the order of natural processes: from degraded soil and toxic groundwater to germination to a dense, vibrant meadow. The second strand, rooted in the spirit of reportage, documents the work of scientists. The collision and interpenetration of these two worlds allows us to see remediation as both a technical process and a story about responsibility, the limits of control, and hope built on real action. We must act because there is no planet B.
