Der Greif X MPB: Behind the Image with artist Yao Yuan

Join us for a live “Der Greif X MPB: Behind the Image” conversation on December 22nd at 7 pm CET with artist Yao Yuan. Yuan is the Guest Room Scholarship recipient of 1.000 € from our Guest Room curated by Simon Baker and Aden Vincendeau on the theme; “Happy accidents: embracing mistakes”. Together with Yuan, we will take an in-depth look into their practice, which engages bodies, spaces, and rituals. Their investigations through the photographic medium explore the queering of storytelling and dramaturgy, rethinking the binary framework of dominant norms, particularly those related to gender and sexuality. The focus of Yuan’s work touches on topics of non-normative narratives surrounding motherhood, nature, queer representation, and intimacy.
