Screening: Read Against the Machine

Join Der Greif and the Foundation Manuel Rivera-Ortiz for an evening of collective looking and conversation. This special screening presents works by artists selected through our open call, alongside the outcomes of the "Read Against the Machine" workshop developed during Les Rencontres d’Arles.

Bringing together diverse photographic practices from around the world, the program explores images that invite interpretation rather than certainty, embracing ambiguity, dialogue, and multiple ways of seeing. The screening reflects a collaborative editing process in which artists and participants collectively examined, sequenced, and recontextualized photographs through discussion and exchange.

Presented as part of our Arles community gathering, the event offers an opportunity to encounter new work, meet fellow artists and curators, and celebrate the social act of looking together.
